[Financial News] Musinsa Standard, MUSINSA's casualwear brand, recorded double-digit sales growth in non-metropolitan areas.
According to MUSINSA on the 22nd, combined sales at Musinsa Standard's eight stores in non-metropolitan areas rose by approximately 44% year on year from the beginning of this year through last month. The Cheonan-Asan branch, which opened on the 18th, was excluded from the calculation.
During the same period, more than 4.5 million people, or approximately 17% of the more than 27 million visitors to all Musinsa Standard stores, visited regional hub stores. Regional stores achieved 125% of their sales targets.
The number of foreign customers is also increasing. At MUSINSA STANDARD SEOMYUN, which operates as a store specializing in global customers, purchases by foreign customers accounted for approximately 30% of sales from January through August, up 11 percentage points from the same period a year earlier.
Musinsa Standard has expanded its presence outside the capital region since opening a store on Daegu Dongseong-ro Street in 2023, followed by locations in Busan, Daejeon, Cheongju and Gwangju. Of its 43 stores in Korea, nine are currently located in non-metropolitan areas.
The brand is also expanding collaborations with local brands. At the Cheonan-Asan branch, it partnered with Cheonan-based brand 'Halmeoni Hakhwa Hodugwaja,' while at the Gwangju store, it launched limited-edition products with local dessert brand 'Judy Mari.'
Musinsa Standard plans to open stores in Jeju Province and Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province during the second half of the year to improve accessibility.
A Musinsa Standard official said, "As a result of our continued investment in offline operations in non-metropolitan areas, both sales and visitor numbers at regional stores are showing meaningful results. We will continue to invigorate local commercial districts by opening stores in major provincial cities."
