National Assembly to Hold Finance, Economy and Planning and Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee Meetings Today, Receive Report on 'First U.S. Investment' Project

[Financial News] The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea will receive a report from the government on its first project involving investment in the United States on the 22nd.
The Finance, Economy and Planning Committee and the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee will hold full committee meetings at 9:30 a.m. that day.
The committees are expected to receive closed-door briefings from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, respectively, on the progress of negotiations over investment in the United States and the details of the agreements.
Lee Hyoung-il, nominee for Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance and Economy, is expected to attend the Finance, Economy and Planning Committee meeting. Kim Jung-kwan, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Park Jeong-seong, Minister for Trade, are expected to attend the Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee meeting.
The briefing will be held with only government officials and lawmakers serving on the standing committees in attendance. Attendance by standing committee experts and aides was not permitted for security reasons, given that negotiations with the U.S. side are ongoing.
