Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Organization Lines Up a Full Slate of Chuseok Events

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Organization will host a variety of Chuseok events from the 24th through the 26th at Bomun Lakeside Plaza and throughout Gyeongju Expo Grand Park.
The events are designed to give visitors and returning residents traveling to Gyeongju during the Chuseok holiday a special holiday experience. A range of programs, including traditional games, hands-on activities and performances, will be available for the whole family to enjoy.
Lee Ji-eun, head of the Culture and Tourism Industry Division, said, "We have prepared a variety of events so visitors can make happy memories during the Chuseok holiday," and added, "I hope you have a joyful Chuseok at Bomun Tourist Complex and Gyeongju Expo Grand Park."
A variety of Chuseok activities for families will take place around Bomun Lakeside Plaza. A traditional folk games area will operate throughout the event, along with an interactive treasure hunt.
The organizers will also offer hands-on programs that capture the Chuseok atmosphere, such as traditional-pattern lantern making, as well as additional activities including slow postcard writing.
In addition, a variety of performances, including magic shows, will be presented to provide visitors to Bomun Tourist Complex during the Chuseok holiday with plenty to see and enjoy.
At Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, admission discounts will be available during the Chuseok holiday, along with the program "Hangawi Festival: Silla Playtime with Hwani and Wani!" Visitors can enjoy traditional games such as yut-nori, tuho and jegichagi, an Art Road activity for coloring traditional patterns, and a Mission Road featuring challenges throughout the park. Family-oriented games, including team moon-floating and speed stacking, will also be offered, while a range of performances, including a taekwondo showcase, will provide visitors with plenty to see and enjoy.
Special performances will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the event period. The lineup includes a taekwondo performance by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council's Dokdo Love Sports Performance Troupe, as well as flute and popera performances.
Meanwhile, from the 24th through the 27th, three-generation families, including foreign nationals, will receive free admission. Free admission will also be provided to hanbok wearers and people wearing traditional clothing from their respective countries, with the benefit limited to the wearer.
