Kim Dae-beom Responds After Being Identified as the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS)-Recruited Comedian Accused of Assaulting a Designated Driver While Intoxicated

[Financial News] KBS-recruited comedian Kim Dae-beom, 47, personally denied being the comedian booked on suspicion of assaulting a designated driver after he was identified as the suspect.
On the 21st, Kim Dae-beom posted a screenshot of the related article on social media and said, "I’m speaking up because I saw that some people in the comments occasionally mentioned my name and speculated that it was me. It wasn’t me."
He continued, "I am not currently in Korea," and reiterated, "I want to make clear that I have absolutely nothing to do with this incident."
He added, "Something that should never have happened has happened, and as a fellow comedian, I also find it deeply distressing. I hope this never happens again."
Earlier on the 21st, Seoul Seocho Police Station said it had booked and was investigating a KBS-recruited comedian identified by the surname Kim on suspicion of assaulting a driver while the vehicle was in motion under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes.
Kim is accused of assaulting designated driver A, whom he had called, by grabbing and shaking the driver's neck at around 1 a.m. on the 20th while intoxicated.
At the time, the designated driver was reportedly driving from Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to Kim’s home. Police, who were dispatched after receiving the report, arrested Kim at the scene and are investigating the specific circumstances of the incident.
