Choose a Book and Explore the Neighborhood: Busan and Daejeon Travel Maps Created by Kyobo Book Centre Employees

[Financial News] Employees at Kyobo Book Centre stores in Busan and Daejeon selected their favorite restaurants and select shops and compiled them into travel maps. During the Chuseok holiday, visitors can choose books at the bookstores and then explore various parts of the cities with the help of printed and online maps.
Kyobo Book Centre said on the 22nd that the Busan and Daejeon editions of "Kyobo Gatta Gaboljido," the second series of its local travel guide project, have been released. The project expanded its coverage following the Daegu and Ulsan editions launched last May.
Employees in the respective regions participated in selecting locations, writing recommendations and producing the content. Alongside well-known tourist attractions, the maps feature restaurants and select shops that employees have visited themselves.
The project aims to extend the cultural experience that begins at the bookstore into the surrounding neighborhoods. It is an effort to connect readers visiting the stores with local spaces through employees' everyday experiences. Travelers can learn about the recommended locations as well as the tastes of the employees who selected them.
The first series, covering Daegu and Ulsan, distributed 2,000 physical maps. It was also featured by the media, web magazines, newsletters and social media. Kyobo Book Centre prepared the Busan and Daejeon editions based on the response to that series.
Physical maps are available free of charge at Kyobo Book Centre's Busan and Daejeon stores. The map files can be downloaded from the online event page, and the recommended locations can also be found on NAVER Map.
Before visiting, travelers can narrow down the locations that interest them on the map and check their positions on the online map. This makes it possible to plan an itinerary linking a bookstore visit with a meal and neighborhood sightseeing. During the holiday, visitors should check each location's closing days and operating hours separately.
An event inviting readers to recommend additional locations will run through October 11. Participants can suggest Busan and Daejeon locations to add to the maps in the comments, and Kyobo Book Centre gift cards will be awarded by lottery.
Kyobo Book Centre is also holding the special promotion "2026 Our Chuseok, Full-Moon Wish Bookshop" through the 30th. It is offering the "Folding Letter Set" to customers who purchase books featured in the promotion.
