Gangnam Dermatology Clinic Director Arrested for Repeatedly Administering Propofol to 20 Patients

[Financial News] The director of a dermatology clinic who repeatedly administered propofol to patients who did not require anesthesia has been arrested.
According to legal sources on the 22nd, Seoul Central District Court Chief Judge Lee Ji-young, who handles arrest warrants, issued an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s identified only as A after conducting a pre-arrest suspect interrogation, also known as a warrant review hearing, the previous day. The judge said, "There is concern that evidence could be destroyed."
A, who runs a dermatology clinic in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is suspected of administering propofol to about 20 patients approximately 360 times for nonmedical purposes from January last year through last month.
A is reported to have obtained procedure consent forms from patients who had not fully regained consciousness after receiving propofol and induced them to make additional payments.
Seoul Namdaemun Police Station searched A's dermatology clinic in June, secured relevant materials, and requested an arrest warrant on the 11th.
