[Financial News] The Industrial Bank of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) on the "Joint Support for the Startup Build-Up Program to Establish a Growth Ladder for Early-Stage Innovative Startups."
According to financial sector sources on the 21st, the Industrial Bank of Korea launched the IBK Step-Up Loan, a dedicated product with a total value of 300 billion won, under the agreement.
The product is structured to provide phased support, from initial to follow-up funding, once a company's growth potential has been demonstrated. Eligible recipients are early-stage startups that receive guarantee certificates under the agreement.
The Industrial Bank of Korea will offer interest rate discounts of up to 1.2 percentage points to companies receiving initial support and up to 1.5 percentage points to those receiving follow-up support.
Yoo Il-gwang, executive director of the Industrial Bank of Korea, said, "I hope this support will serve as a starting point that opens up new possibilities for early-stage innovative startups," adding, "We will do our utmost to support startups in the blind spots of the guarantee system."
