Nexon Confirms THE FINALS Grand Major Asia-Pacific (APAC) Representative Teams

[Financial News] Nexon said on the 21st that it had finalized the Asia-Pacific (APAC) representative teams for Grand Major 2026, the global esports tournament for THE FINALS, a team-based first-person shooter (FPS) developed by its subsidiary Embark Studios.
THE FINALS' official global esports tournament, the TGM Online Series, was held across each region in four cycles from May through August. The teams advancing to the year-end international tournament Grand Major 2026 were determined based on the cumulative points earned in each cycle. China's King Zero, which finished first on the APAC leaderboard, advanced directly to the Grand Major main event, while a closed qualifier was held on the 19th to determine the two remaining spots.
A total of eight teams competed in the APAC closed qualifier: South Korea's Ape Squad and MIRGG, China's DRG, Japan's Tsukuyomi, Indonesia's Gunflix, the South Korea-Australia joint team 777rs, the Japan-Thailand joint team Hanabi, and the Australia-New Zealand joint team Mosbongo. Based on the starting-match results, Ape Squad, Mosbongo, Hanabi and 777rs, which placed first or second in their respective groups, advanced to the next round. In the final matchup between 777rs and Ape Squad on Sys Horizon and Las Vegas Stadium, 777rs created an unexpected turn of events and won two consecutive matches to secure a place in the Grand Major.
DRG, Mosbongo, Hanabi and MIRGG competed for the final spot, with MIRGG and Hanabi reaching the final after a closely fought contest. Hanabi took the first win on Galaxy Estates, powered by the firepower of its player Midstar. MIRGG then secured two cashouts in the following round to level the series. On the final Sys Horizon map, MIRGG won by strategically controlling the timing of its eliminations, becoming the last APAC representative for Grand Major 2026.
APAC will therefore send three teams to Grand Major 2026: King Zero, which advanced directly to the main event by finishing first on the leaderboard, along with 777rs and MIRGG, which advanced through the closed qualifier. Grand Major 2026 will be held from November 27 to 29 at DreamHack Stockholm, Sweden. Representative teams from APAC, AMERICAS and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will compete for a total prize pool of $150,000. Every match will be streamed live online, with Korean-language broadcasts also available through the official THE FINALS channels on CHZZK and Soop.
