【Financial News Chuncheon = Kim Ki-seop, Reporter】 Gangwon Technopark helped companies in Gangwon Province enter Vietnam, generating contracts worth $6.18 million.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 21st, companies from Gangwon Province held 150 buyer consultations and 19 business agreements (MOUs) at the 2026 Korea–Vietnam MegaUs Expo and the export consultations for Gangwon companies, held from the 27th to the 29th of last month. The companies recorded contract values totaling $6.18 million.
Gangwon Technopark, Kangwon National University Startup Innovation Center, Kangwon National University Anchor Project Group, and Kangwon National University Technology Holdings Company jointly supported the entry of 10 companies into the Vietnamese market. The companies operated in information and communications technology (ICT) and artificial intelligence (AI), cosmetics and beauty equipment, food, and ingredients and materials.
Follow-up results are also taking shape for each company. New M plans to advance its market entry through licensing consulting and buyer referrals after gaining access to experts and partners through a Ho Chi Minh City medical device network regarding local certifications and approvals, which had posed challenges during its expansion into Vietnam. Food company It’s the Home is pursuing entry into distribution channels by assessing the potential for business-to-business (B2B) distribution and consumer response in Vietnam, while also holding talks to supply products to Lotte Mart in Ho Chi Minh City.
Into VS secured potential connections with local medical institutions, universities, and research organizations and is pursuing follow-up meetings with officials from Vietnamese national hospitals. IoTED plans to continue discussions on product distribution and exports after identifying local buyers for character toys.
Be Nature Bio Lab discussed original equipment manufacturing (OEM), original design manufacturing (ODM), and local production partnerships with local distributors for cosmetics and health functional foods using its ingredients. At the Gangwon export consultations, it recorded MOU contract values of $1.2 million and prospective deals worth $2.7 million. Haho Medi also recorded $1.4 million in prospective deals, with the companies confirming the potential of the Vietnamese market based on their respective product characteristics.
The products and technologies were also recognized for their market potential in Vietnam. Of the 162 companies from across the country that participated in the MegaUs Expo, 30 were selected as outstanding innovative companies following on-site evaluations. Three Gangwon companies—It’s the Home of Chuncheon, which makes dakgalbi meal kits; New Land All Nature of Wonju, a cosmetics manufacturer; and IoTED of Chuncheon, an ICT Blocktocker maker—received the MegaUs Innovation Awards. The three companies accounted for 30% of the 10 participating Gangwon companies, a result viewed as confirming the competitiveness of Gangwon companies’ products and technologies in the Vietnamese market.
“The significance lies in directly finding buyers suited to each company’s products and expansion needs after the exhibition and connecting the companies to the actual market-entry stage,” said Choi Gap-yong, head of the Corporate Support Division at Gangwon Technopark. “We will strengthen follow-up support by leveraging our local network and Vietnam online pavilion so that the momentum created by 150 consultations and 19 MOUs leads to contracts and exports.”
