Tibero Expands Coretax TAC Operations for Indonesia's Tax Authority to Seven Nodes

[Financial News] Integrated database (DB) platform company TmaxTibero said on the 21st that it had applied its DBMS, Tibero, to Coretax, the next-generation tax administration system of Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes (DGT). By supporting the stable operation of the national tax administration system, the company has demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the global market.
Coretax is a next-generation tax administration system developed as part of a national digital transformation initiative led by Indonesia's Ministry of Finance. It integrates the entire tax administration process—from taxpayer registration to tax filing and payment, refunds, tax audits, and collection—into a single platform. Through the system, the Indonesian government is enhancing the efficiency and transparency of tax administration while strengthening a data-driven administrative framework.
The project was carried out by LG CNS and Austrian IT company Qualysoft, while Tibero supplied Coretax's core database platform. Coretax is Indonesia's key information system, processing information on tens of millions of taxpayers and large-scale transactions every day. Tibero provides the data-processing foundation for this national-level, mission-critical environment.
In particular, Coretax uses Tibero's redundant, high-availability cluster technology, Tibero Active Cluster (TAC), following migration from the existing Oracle RAC environment. The technology enables an Active-Active high-availability architecture.
After initially being built as a two-node TAC environment, Coretax has now been expanded to seven nodes and is operating at that scale. The system has grown without service interruptions and is reliably handling increasing numbers of users and transactions. This is regarded as a case demonstrating Tibero's scalability and operational stability in a national core tax administration system. Recently, Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes presented an appreciation plaque to LG CNS for its contribution to Coretax's implementation and stabilization. Tibero was also officially invited to the event as a major partner after being recognized for its contribution to the successful database transition and system stabilization as the core DBMS provider.
Won Man-sik, head of LG CNS Indonesia, said, "Coretax is a national core system serving tens of millions of taxpayers, so stable database operations were especially important. From the implementation stage through operational stabilization, Tibero's local team and headquarters worked closely together to provide immediate technical support and respond to issues. Tibero also supported stable system operations during the TAC-based expansion, playing an important role in the project's success."
