Jang Dong-hyuk on Kang Hoon-sik's Resignation: "President Lee Jae Myung Is the One Who Should Bear Responsibility"

[Financial News] People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk criticized President Lee Jae Myung on the 21st after Chief of Staff to the President Kang Hoon-sik offered his resignation, saying, "President Lee Jae Myung is the one who should bear overall responsibility."
Jang made the remarks on social media, asking, "Is this an issue that can end with the chief of staff alone taking responsibility?"
Earlier, Seong Gi-hong, senior secretary for public relations and communications at the Blue House, said at a briefing at the Chunchugwan Press Center at the Blue House, "Kang Hoon-sik offered his resignation to President Lee Jae Myung this morning" and explained, "He offered to resign to take overall responsibility as the chief of staff assisting the president." The move was seen as an effort to take responsibility for the successive failures of the nominations of Yong Hye-in, a former candidate for minister of Gender Equality and Family, and Kim Seung-won, a former candidate for minister of Justice.
In response, Jang said, "Although the president is taking no responsibility, Kang's attitude is at least worthy of praise," before adding sarcastically, "Aren't the people who really need to take responsibility the 'Gyeonggi-Seongnam line' that supposedly controls the Blue House? So, is 'Hyeon-ji noona' really more powerful than 'Hoon-sik hyung'?"
He continued, "The situation passed the point where it could be resolved merely by replacing the chief of staff long ago," and argued, "The Cabinet and the Blue House must undergo a sweeping overhaul."
