Gwangju Bank Makes a Special Contribution of KRW 1 Billion to Support Small Businesses in Gwangju

【Financial News, Jeonnam-Gwangju—Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Gwangju Bank will make a special contribution of KRW 1 billion to support small businesses in the Gwangju area.
 Gwangju Bank said on the 21st that it had signed the "2026 Second-Half Special-Guarantee Expansion Support Agreement for Small Businesses" with Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation.
 Under the agreement, Gwangju Bank will contribute KRW 1 billion to support small businesses in the Gwangju area. Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation will use the funds to provide special guarantees, while Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City will provide an interest subsidy of 3% to 4% for one year to ease the burden of financing costs.
 Gwangju Bank President Jeong Il-seon said, "I hope this special guarantee will help ease the financial burden on local small business owners facing management difficulties and enable them to maintain stable operations."
 Eligible applicants are small enterprises, small business owners, and self-employed individuals based in the Gwangju area, excluding businesses in certain sectors such as adult entertainment, gambling, and other speculative industries. Each business can receive up to KRW 50 million, with a loan term of up to seven years.
 Guarantee applications can be submitted remotely through Gwangju Bank's Wa Bank app or the Korea Federation of Credit Guarantee Foundations' Bojeung Dream app. Applicants who have difficulty applying remotely can visit a Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation branch to apply in person.
 Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank is continuing its financial support to ease the financial burden on local small business owners and revitalize the regional economy. This year, it has made special contributions totaling KRW 3.7 billion and supplied special-guarantee loans worth KRW 68.6 billion to small businesses in the Gwangju area.
 Gwangju Bank President Jeong Il-seon stated, "As the representative bank of Jeonnam-Gwangju, we will continue to grow together with local small business owners and fulfill our role as a reliable financial partner for the regional economy."
