Drunk KBS-Recruited Comedian Arrested for Assaulting Designated Driver on Way Home

[Financial News] A comedian identified only by the surname Kim, who was recruited through the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS)'s open recruitment process, was taken into police custody for allegedly assaulting a designated driver while on his way home after drinking.
According to police on the 21st, the Seoul Seocho Police Station booked Kim for investigation without detention on suspicion of assaulting a driver under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Kim is accused of assaulting A, a designated driver he had called after drinking at a bar in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 1 a.m. on the 20th. The alleged assault occurred inside the vehicle as they were traveling home.
Kim was reportedly intoxicated at the time and assaulted A, who was driving, by grabbing and shaking him by the neck, among other acts.
Police responding to the report arrested Kim at the scene at around 1 a.m. on the 20th.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and what happened at the time by questioning Kim, A and others.
