Amorepacific: "Peptide Found That Promotes Healthy Hair Formation"

[Financial News] Amorepacific has identified the biological mechanisms involved in healthy hair formation and discovered a new peptide that supports the process.
According to Amorepacific on the 21st, the findings were published in the September issue of the international academic journal Experimental Dermatology.
The researchers identified how the microenvironment of hair follicles, the structures where hair grows, affects the strength and quality of newly formed hair.
An analysis of newly grown hair from healthy adults found that the expression of a specific gene (COCH) was closely associated with disulfide bonds, which determine hair strength. Disulfide bonds help maintain hair strength and elasticity, and a greater number of these bonds is known to result in higher tensile strength.
The study found that the disulfide bond content in the hair of people aged 50 and older was at least 21% lower than in those in their 20s to 40s, while hair tensile strength was at least 40% lower. The researchers also confirmed a correlation between disulfide bond content and hair tensile strength.
Amorepacific collaborated with global peptide specialist Croda International to study the structures of the scalp and hair follicles. Together, they developed the next-generation ingredient "GROW PEPTIDETM," designed to influence key factors involved in healthy hair formation. The related technology has been applied to the recently launched RYO ROOT:GEN line.
