HanmiGlobal Performs PM for SK hynix’s HBM Plant Construction in Indiana, USA

[Financial News] HanmiGlobal, a global construction project management (PM) specialist, announced on the 21st that it is performing PM services for the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) packaging plant project being built by SK hynix in Indiana, USA.
This project, SK hynix’s first AI memory production base to be established in the United States, is a large-scale construction project involving a total investment of over $4 billion. Located in West Lafayette, Indiana, the site began excavation last March and aims to complete the cleanroom in October 2028 and begin mass production in the second half of 2029.
HanmiGlobal has been involved since the Pre-Con phase in August 2024 and will manage the overall construction of the factory until the completion of the cleanroom in 2028. Specifically, it oversees design management, process and cost management, quality, safety, and risk management, as well as ensuring smooth coordination between Korean and U.S. partners.
With Korean high-tech companies recently actively expanding into the U.S., a professional understanding of local regulations is essential, as the U.S. possesses procurement systems, licensing, and labor environments distinct from those in Korea. In particular, the role of the Project Manager (PM) is critical for semiconductor production facilities, as they require precise coordination of equipment installation schedules and infrastructure such as cleanrooms, power, and water supply. HanmiGlobal is currently managing over 20 high-tech industrial facility projects in the U.S., including those for semiconductors, secondary batteries, and submarine cables, and is recognized for its outstanding local execution capabilities.
