Anchor Park Jae-hong Returns to the Air a Month After Suffering a Cerebral Infarction: "Carefully Starting with Live Broadcasts Only"

[Financial News] CBS anchor Park Jae-hong, who collapsed after suffering a cerebral infarction and underwent treatment and rehabilitation, returned to live broadcasting after about a month.

Anchor Park announced his discharge from the hospital and plans to return to broadcasting in a Facebook post on the 17th. He said, "Thanks to the prayers and support of so many people, I experienced the miracle of being discharged from the hospital yesterday after a month. Following my rehabilitation physician's recommendation, I plan to cautiously resume live broadcasts only starting today. I was told that work performed while seated is possible."

He returned that day to CBS Radio's 'Park Jae-hong's Hanpanseungbu' and thanked listeners at the end of the program. Anchor Park said, "So many devoted listeners sent words of encouragement in real time. I also received several video messages through YouTube, and more than 3,000 people left warm comments, which gave me tremendous strength. I should be the one worrying about all of you, but you have been worrying about me, and I am sorry. I will continue broadcasting diligently and carefully, in accordance with my attending physician's advice. Thank you." His voice briefly choked with emotion during the remarks.

Anchor Park collapsed from a cerebral infarction on the night of the 22nd last month and was taken to the emergency room for treatment. On the 31st of the same month, he wrote on Facebook, "I am truly grateful that, thanks to the dedicated treatment I received from the medical staff at Samsung Medical Center, my language ability, memory, and sensation on both sides have now recovered to 100 percent. I am currently undergoing rehabilitation to recover my motor functions."

On the 4th, he posted a video on the YouTube account for 'Park Jae-hong's Hanpanseungbu' to update viewers on his rehabilitation. He said, "Since yesterday, I have been working hard on rehabilitation after moving from the intensive care unit to the rehabilitation ward. I look forward to the day when I can complete my rehabilitation, return in good health, greet all of you listeners, and enjoy broadcasting from the live studio again." He continued, "There is one sentence you can say when you meet someone you love after a long time," adding, "I really wanted to say, 'I missed you,' to all of you listeners."
