According to the SBA on the 21st, this event, held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) on the 18th and 19th, is a growth program for emerging creators that focuses on the creators' unique perspectives, ideas, and worldviews rather than the technology itself.
This year, the conference, one-on-one portfolio mentoring, and AI content creation hackathon were organically linked. At the conference, changes in content and the creative environment were examined from various perspectives, focusing on the 'worldview of creators in the AI era.'
Kim Hye-young, General Manager of Daewon Media, gave a presentation on 'The Irreplaceable Worldview, Moomin,' while science creator Orbit presented on the topic of 'How Expertise Becomes Content in the AI Era.' Koo Joo-won, CEO of ELBA, introduced methods to consistently implement a creator's worldview in the AI era.
In the one-on-one portfolio mentoring conducted for the web, video, and design fields, experts from the content industry, publishing, web novels, video and design, advertising, and academia directly reviewed the participants' works and provided practical feedback on their potential for growth, future content production, and career paths.
Kim Hee-yeol, who participated in the mentoring, said, "I felt frustrated a lot while preparing AI webtoons and video content on my own, but it was a great help to hear insightful answers and advice from industry experts."
The flow of this program led to actual deliverables at the AI content creation hackathon. Under the theme "My Seoul Story," participants interpreted their memories, emotions, and imaginations of Seoul from their own perspectives and utilized generative AI to realize them into various forms of content, including webtoons, web novels, short-form videos, and animations.
In particular, the hackathon focused on the process and results of how a creator's worldview is realized through generative AI, rather than simply the ability to utilize AI.
A total of 10 teams received awards at the hackathon, which featured a total prize pool of 30 million won. The Grand Prize, the Seoul Business Agency Award, was won by the DIDIT team—composed of Kang Min-seok, Park Saem-ina, and Jihye Bae—for their project 'Haechidan_Prologue,' which received 10 million won.
Moon Gu-seon, Head of the Creative Industries Division at SBA, stated, "As the content production environment rapidly changes due to generative AI, creators' unique ideas and worldviews are becoming increasingly important competitive advantages." He added, "I hope this 'Creative Team' serves as an opportunity for emerging creators to discover their potential, connect with industry experts, and develop their unique worldviews into actual content and future careers."
