Samsung C&T Selected as Contractor for 2,203-Unit Seongsu District 3 Project; Construction Cost at 1.8 Trillion Won

[Financial News] Samsung C&T announced on the 21st that it had been finally selected as the contractor for the Seongsu District 3 redevelopment project in Seoul's Seongdong District.
The Seongsu District 3 redevelopment association approved a motion to select Samsung C&T as the contractor at a general meeting held on the 19th. The project will create 2,203 households across 11 apartment buildings ranging from seven basement levels to up to 72 aboveground floors, along with office and neighborhood commercial facilities, on a site around 572-7 Seongsu 2-ga 1-dong in Seongdong District, Seoul. The total construction cost is estimated at approximately 1.8275 trillion won.
Seongsu District 3 is considered a prime location where residents can enjoy both the natural surroundings of the Hangang River and Seoul Forest and the rich cultural and commercial infrastructure of Seongsu-dong. The project is also expected to become a landmark development that will transform the urban landscape along the Hangang River in Seongsu.
Samsung C&T proposed RAEMIAN REVIR SEONGSU as the name of the new complex. REVIR is a Swedish word referring to a realm of absolute value, conveying the company's commitment to creating a landmark that sets a new standard for Seongsu through refined symmetry and balance.
To achieve this vision, Samsung C&T will partner with the global British architectural firm Foster + Partners to present distinctive exterior and landscape designs. The complex will feature a symbolic skyline centered on an ultra-high-rise tower reaching up to 250 meters, along with facade designs inspired by the flow of the Hangang River. In particular, Foster + Partners' Cyclops view-analysis solution was used to ensure that all 959 association members can enjoy premium views of the Hangang River. The project will also introduce a range of specialized floor plans, including three-sided open panoramic views and Korea's first nine-sided open penthouses.
The high-end residential environment and large-scale community facilities are also noteworthy. REVIR Suites, to be created in two buildings along the Hangang River, will incorporate Samsung C&T's Next Home technology, a future-oriented residential model featuring a dry-floor system and modular bathrooms. The community facilities, measuring approximately 23.8 square meters per household, will include a 55-meter panoramic bridge overlooking the Hangang River, a panoramic pool, a swimming pool, and a lounge restaurant. For the landscaping, Samsung C&T plans to work with SWA Group to create a large central plaza of approximately 52,893 square meters at the heart of the complex.
Lim Cheol-jin, head of housing sales at Samsung C&T, said, "We incorporated meticulous and differentiated design elements throughout the complex to maximize the locational value of Seongsu District 3. Based on Samsung C&T's high-rise construction capabilities and future-oriented residential technologies, we will complete a new landmark representing the Hangang River area of Seongsu."
