[Financial News] Lotte Department Store will become the first department store operator to participate in the Korea Social Value Festa.
According to Lotte Department Store on the 21st, it will operate a Lotte Department Store booth at the Korea Social Value Festa, which runs for two days from that day at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The Korea Social Value Festa, hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), is an event focused on resolving social issues and promoting sustainable development. Now in its third year, it brings together government, business, academia and other stakeholders to share examples of social value creation and discuss ways to cooperate.
The Lotte Department Store booth is organized around the slogan "Better Me, Better Earth, Better Society." It will feature experiential content linked to Lotte Department Store's flagship social contribution campaign, REJOICE, and its eco-friendly campaign, RE:EARTH.
In the REJOICE campaign exhibition zone, videos featuring the voices of counselors, beneficiaries and other campaign participants will be shown. Visitors will also receive a "one-day psychological prescription" kit. Launched in 2017, the REJOICE campaign is Lotte Department Store's flagship social contribution initiative supporting the restoration of self-esteem as well as people's dreams and challenges.
The RE:EARTH exhibition zone, which has been operating since 2021, will sell upcycled goods and offer eco-friendly experience programs. Five types of goods—including tote bags, card holders, pouches and chilling bags made from recycled materials such as discarded banners—will be sold, with all proceeds donated to a project to create carbon-neutral "school forests."
The event will also feature interactive content, including a "message wall" that displays messages written by visitors and "Reimpact Planet," in which the LED lights on a model of Earth change according to participation data.
Lee Seong-hyun, head of Lotte Department Store's Communications Division, said, "It is very meaningful to join Korea's largest social contribution festival, the Korea Social Value Festa, as the first participant from the department store industry. We will continue working to ensure that Lotte Department Store's REJOICE and RE:EARTH grow in value as social contribution initiatives representing Korea."
