Vacant House Transformed into Emergency Housing... Four Hyundai Department Store Group Affiliates Provide Support

[Financial News] Four affiliates of Hyundai Department Store Group have joined efforts to support the creation of emergency housing in Seoul's Jongno District.
 Hyundai Department Store Group said on the 21st that four of its affiliates—Hyundai L&C, Hyundai Livart, Zinus, and Hyundai Green Food—supported the “Emergency Housing Project Using a Vacant House in Changsin-dong,” which was carried out by the Jongno-gu Office and the Jongno Housing Welfare Center.
 Emergency housing is temporary accommodation for households that have suddenly lost their homes due to incidents such as fires or flooding, where they can stay until they secure a new place to live.
 For this project, Hyundai L&C provided construction materials, including flooring, wallpaper, and interior film, as well as installation supplies. It also offered interior film installation training and space-design mentoring for volunteers who participated in the remodeling work.
 Hyundai Livart provided furniture, including chests of drawers, wardrobes, sofas, and dining table sets, while Zinus supplied bed frames and mattresses. Hyundai Green Food provided meals and snacks for college student volunteers and others during the project.
 The newly created emergency housing was built by remodeling a vacant detached house in Changsin-dong, Jongno District, with one basement level and two above-ground floors. Four households can stay in the emergency housing on the first and second floors, while the basement has been converted into a shared cultural space for residents.
 Lee Kang-hyun, head of the Brand Marketing Team at Hyundai L&C, said, "It is meaningful to be able to provide practical assistance to neighbors who urgently need a place to stay after disasters such as fires and flooding." Lee added, "We plan to continue our community outreach efforts to improve residential environments by making use of our expertise in interiors."
