Krafton Nurtures Future Game Developers: Games Created by Teenagers from Six Countries Showcased Together

[Financial News] Krafton supported game development by teenagers from six countries, including South Korea, and showcased the games they completed after three months of mentoring.
Krafton and JA Korea, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) focused on youth education, announced on the 21st that they had held the showcase for the '2026 BETTER GROUND Final,' the concluding event of the 'BETTER GROUND High School' youth game development support program, on the 18th at PUBG Seongsu in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
A total of 66 participants from 17 teams took part in the showcase—12 teams from South Korea and five selected from across Asia. The students unveiled games they had developed themselves, including action, puzzle, simulation, horror, and educational titles. Through team booth demonstrations and stage presentations, they explained the concepts and key features of their games. They also tried other teams' games and shared the challenges they encountered during development, along with how they solved them.
This year's program began in April with 'Play,' an online exploration phase joined by more than 1,000 teenagers from six countries. Teams that passed the proposal review received game development lectures and mentoring from Krafton employees during the intensive mentoring phase, 'Day.' They then completed their games through three months of online follow-up mentoring in the 'Up' phase.
BETTER GROUND is an education-focused corporate social responsibility program that Krafton has operated since 2023. It consists of 'BETTER GROUND High School,' which targets high school students, and 'BETTER GROUND University,' which provides college students with experience in game production. BETTER GROUND High School is being held for the fourth time this year. Since its launch in 2023, a total of 561 people have participated, with 479 completing the program. Krafton employees serve as volunteer mentors, coaching students based on their professional experience in the game industry.
