Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries Implements 'Special Port Operations Measures' Ahead of Chuseok

[Financial News] Ahead of Chuseok, the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries is preparing special measures to ensure that importers, exporters and shipping companies can use the port safely and efficiently throughout the holiday.

The Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 21st that it would implement special measures for Port of Busan operations for four days, from the 24th through the 27th during the holiday period.
Port of Busan will operate normally except on Chuseok, which falls on the 25th. Cargo-handling operations can also be supported on Chuseok if requested in advance.
The Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries will also introduce staggered days off for port workers and maintain communication networks as it shifts to an emergency operating system. Tugboat operators and pilots will organize standby teams to ensure that arriving and departing vessels can berth and unberth without disruption, providing services as usual throughout the holiday.
Port-related businesses, including port service companies, ship-supply providers and marine fuel suppliers, will also maintain emergency standby systems to ensure the uninterrupted provision of port services.
In addition, the Port-MIS shipping, port and logistics information system will operate normally during the Chuseok holiday to support the smooth arrival and departure of vessels. An emergency operations room will also be run at the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries to help port users access services without inconvenience.
Choi Young-in, head of the Port Logistics Division at the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, emphasized, "We will maintain a thorough response system to ensure the smooth operation of Port of Busan and the convenience of port users throughout the holiday."
