[Financial News] Innospace, a private space launch vehicle company, announced on the 21st that it had signed a small satellite launch service distribution agreement with Canadian space and defense systems company Alshat Space (RSAT Space) and would strengthen its sales cooperation in the Canadian market.
The agreement builds on the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the two companies in April and advances their cooperation into the concrete business execution stage. At the time, they agreed to jointly participate in Canadian government and private-sector projects and expand launch services. Through the distribution agreement, they will now begin actively identifying customers and pursuing sales for launch services in Canada.
Under the agreement, Alshat Space will hold non-exclusive sales rights in Canada for Innospace's HANBIT series of small satellite launch services, including HANBIT-NANO, HANBIT-Micro, and HANBIT-Mini. It will identify local customers, propose launch services, conduct sales activities, and conclude contracts, expanding customer engagement across the North American market, with a focus on Canada.
Alshat Space is an end-to-end space and defense systems company that handles everything from satellite platform and payload development to satellite operations. It provides integrated solutions tailored to customers' mission requirements and has developed and manufactured satellite systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) electronics, secure communications payloads, and satellite buses for deep-space missions. Drawing on this experience, the company has carried out projects with global space, aerospace, and defense companies and institutions, including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It has also served as a prime contractor on projects for Canada's Department of National Defence (DND), giving it business development experience and networks not only in the commercial market but also among government agencies.
Innospace has now secured a Canadian regional partner after signing launch service distribution agreements with two U.S. companies—Arrow Science and Technology in August 2025 and Ensemble Commercial Services in May 2026. The company plans to expand its local sales network, which it has built primarily in the United States, into Canada and strengthen business development across North America through local partners with expertise in each country's market conditions and customer networks.
Soojong Kim, CEO of Innospace, said, "This agreement is significant because it advances the cooperation established through the memorandum of understanding signed with Alshat Space in April into a concrete business execution phase focused on strengthening launch service sales cooperation in Canada. In Canada, where a foundation for the satellite industry and demand for space services from the government and private sector have been established, we will work with a partner that has local business experience and customer networks to expand our engagement with launch service customers and identify practical business opportunities."
