"Gifts to Carry for a Short Chuseok Holiday"... Lotte Mart Increases Hand-Carry Sets by 25%

[Financial News] With this year's Chuseok holiday lasting only four days, demand is expected to rise among people who prepare gifts just before the holiday and then head to their hometowns. In response, Lotte Mart has expanded its selection of easy-to-carry hand-carry gift sets.
According to industry sources on the 21st, Lotte Mart will sell hand-carry gift sets through the 25th across major product categories, including fruits, nuts, seaweed, processed foods and daily necessities. The total volume available has increased by more than 25% from last Chuseok.
By product category, Lotte Mart increased the volume of fruit sets, including apples and pears, by 50% year on year, while the number of seaweed gift sets rose by about 20%. The selection also focuses on relatively compact products that are easy to carry, such as Shine Muscat grapes, kiwis, dried persimmons, nuts, mushrooms and fresh salmon.
Hand-carry gift sets featuring socks, household goods and health functional foods are also available among the processed food and daily necessities offerings.
Lotte Super is also operating a quick-commerce service through the Coupang Eats app through the 25th, allowing customers to order and have around 70 types of Chuseok gift sets delivered. The service targets customers who may find it difficult to visit stores just before the holiday.
Shim Youngjun, head of the promotional marketing team at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super, said, "With this year's Chuseok holiday being short, we expect strong demand from customers looking to conveniently prepare gifts just before the holiday, so we expanded our selection of hand-carry gift sets."
