[Financial News] Hyundai Motor Company invited overseas service trainees to South Korea for training in electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). After completing the program, instructors will develop local training curricula, while students will be assigned to vehicle maintenance operations, strengthening Hyundai's overseas service capabilities. The initiative aims to improve service quality by linking global industry-academia cooperation with talent development and employment.
Hyundai Motor Company said on the 21st that it had provided advanced mobility technology training and tours of major Hyundai Motor Group facilities to 28 outstanding service trainees from eight countries from the 14th through the 18th.
The program was attended by 18 students and 10 instructors selected from industry-academia partner automotive maintenance institutions in Nepal, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Türkiye, Poland and Singapore. Hyundai Motor Company invites outstanding trainees from global industry-academia partners to South Korea for maintenance training every year.
From the 14th to the 16th, participants learned about the basic principles of electric vehicles, batteries, vehicle communications and charging systems at the Cheonan Global Learning Center. The curriculum also covered the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), an EV-specific platform, as well as the latest technologies such as ADAS. Participants developed maintenance skills through hands-on training with actual parts and equipment.
From the 17th to the 18th, they visited Hyundai Steel Dangjin Integrated Steelworks, Hyundai Motor Asan Plant, Goyang High-Tech Center and HYUNDAI MOTORSTUDIO GOYANG. The itinerary covered the process from steel production to finished-vehicle manufacturing, vehicle maintenance and brand experiences.
The results of the training will continue at participants' local educational institutions and service sites after they return home. Instructors will develop and operate Hyundai Motor Company-specific training programs at automotive maintenance institutions in their home countries. Students will begin working at local Hyundai Motor Company service sites and handle maintenance services for customers' vehicles.
Kang Beom-seok, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Motor Company's Global Service Business Division, said, "Training outstanding global students to become service professionals directly helps customers around the world trust Hyundai Motor Company more. We will continue supporting the growth of future service professionals through global industry-academia cooperation."
Hyundai Motor Company plans to promote the joint growth of talent and service operations through industry-academia cooperation among local educational institutions, overseas subsidiaries and dealers. Outstanding students will also be given opportunities to work at Hyundai Motor Company's overseas sales and service sites in the future.
