President Lee Jae Myung's Approval Rating at 34.8%... Rebounds After 10 Weeks, Up 1%p [Realmeter]

[Financial News] A poll released on the 21st showed that President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating for his job performance had rebounded slightly after 10 weeks.
In a poll conducted by Realmeter at the request of Energy Economy Newspaper from the 14th to the 18th among 2,507 people aged 18 and older nationwide, President Lee Jae Myung's positive job-performance rating stood at 34.8%. This was up 1.0 percentage point from the previous week.
This was the first time in 10 weeks that President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating had turned upward in a Realmeter poll since it recorded 48.9% on July 13.
The negative rating rose 0.1 percentage point from the previous week to 63.4%. The share who said they were unsure stood at 1.8%.
Realmeter analyzed, "At the beginning of the week, the decline in approval ratings continued amid controversy over personnel vetting and the fallout from confirmation hearings." It added, "Approval ratings turned upward after the president stated his positions on major political issues, including seeking a second term, withdrawing prosecutions, and troop deployment, at a press conference with the public, while emphasizing his determination to reform state affairs."
In a poll conducted on the 17th and 18th among 1,003 voters aged 18 and older nationwide, the Democratic Party of Korea was found to have retaken the lead over the People Power Party in party support.
Support for the Democratic Party of Korea stood at 40.2%, while support for the People Power Party was 38.5%. Support for the Democratic Party rose 4.1 percentage points from the previous poll, whereas support for the People Power Party fell 3.6 percentage points. The gap between the two parties was 1.7 percentage points, with a close race continuing within the margin of error (±3.1%p) for five consecutive weeks. Support for Rebuilding Korea Party (RKP) stood at 5.2%, followed by Reform Party at 1.9% and Progressive Party at 0.9%. Other parties accounted for 2.4%, while voters without a party affiliation accounted for 11.0%.
Both polls were conducted using wireless automated response interviews, with wireless lines accounting for 100% of the sample. The presidential job-approval poll had a margin of sampling error of ±2.0%p at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 4.1%. The party-support poll had a margin of sampling error of ±3.1%p at a 95% confidence level and a response rate of 3.5%.
