[Financial News] More than 7,000 children participated this year alone in Hyundai Mobis' Comprehensive Safety Experience Land, a children's safety awareness campaign held across the country.
Hyundai Mobis announced on the 21st that it held the 2026 Transparent Umbrella Distribution Campaign and Comprehensive Safety Experience Land at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju on the 18th and 19th, following events in Ulsan and Daejeon during the first half of the year. About 3,000 children and family members participated in the event.
The Comprehensive Safety Experience Land is a hands-on safety program operated by Hyundai Mobis in large facilities rented in cooperation with local education offices and related organizations. It consists of 12 hands-on activities, including road traffic safety, kick scooter safety rules, fire evacuation drills, first aid and hygiene education. The program is designed to help children learn firsthand how to prevent safety accidents in their daily lives.
This year's events also introduced changes to the operating format. Participation was expanded from the previous school-based model to a family-oriented program open to all local residents. Officials from local governments, fire stations and police stations also took part, helping maintain order, prevent safety accidents involving children and promote a culture of safety.
Hyundai Mobis also gave transparent umbrellas to children who participated in the event. As part of its children's traffic safety campaign, which began in 2010, the cumulative number of umbrellas distributed has reached 1.6 million as of this year.
Starting in 2024, Hyundai Mobis took the initiative a step further by launching the Comprehensive Safety Experience Land with the goal of cultivating safety awareness across everyday life, beyond traffic safety. The company visits communities where its facilities are located nationwide to share hands-on safety education content, previously concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, with local communities and help promote a culture of safety among future generations.
The Comprehensive Safety Experience Land events held this year in Ulsan, Daejeon and Gwangju attracted more than 7,000 participants in total. Over the past three years, more than 20,000 children in 11 regions nationwide have experienced the program.
A Hyundai Mobis official said, "Safety is a core value of Hyundai Mobis' social contribution activities. Beyond developing technologies to ensure the safety of mobility users, we plan to continue our hands-on safety education programs so that everyone in the community can enjoy safe daily lives."
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis also operates a Junior Engineering Classroom to foster future engineering talent. It continues to carry out employee-participation social contribution activities on topics including fire safety, ecosystem conservation and cultural heritage protection. About 600 employees and their family members participate in volunteer activities each year, primarily in communities near the company's facilities nationwide.
