[Financial News] Hugel invited Taiwanese medical professionals to Korea for an academic exchange on botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. The initiative is aimed at strengthening its presence in the local market.
Hugel said on the 21st that it hosted 25 Taiwanese aesthetic medicine specialists for four days from the 16th as part of its global academic program, L.E.A.D. (Letybo Experience & Discovery).
The participating physicians toured production facilities for Hugel's botulinum toxin product Letybo and its HA filler The Chaeum, known as REVOLAX in Taiwan. They were able to observe the product manufacturing process and quality-control system firsthand.
They also visited Korean clinics to learn about treatment trends and clinical cases in Korea's aesthetic medicine market. Lee Seung-joo, director of Diadeo Dermatology Clinic, conducted a live demonstration using Hugel's toxin and fillers and introduced techniques that could be applied in actual treatments.
Taiwan is one of the major Asia-Pacific markets with strong demand for aesthetic treatments such as botulinum toxin, fillers and skin boosters. After entering Taiwan in 2019 as the first Korean company to do so, Hugel established a direct-sales system centered on its local subsidiary. It currently holds approximately 30% of Taiwan's toxin market, ranking second.
Hugel aims to raise its share of Taiwan's toxin market to 35% by 2027. It also plans to expand its HA filler portfolio, which began formal sales in the first half of last year, to strengthen synergies between its toxin and filler businesses.
Ji Seung-wook, Hugel's executive vice president overseeing business operations, said, "We organized this event to strengthen our networking with medical professionals in Taiwan, one of Asia's key aesthetic medicine markets, and to give them the opportunity to experience the competitiveness of Hugel's products firsthand." He added, "We will continue to expand our share of the toxin market while strengthening the competitiveness of our entire portfolio, including HA fillers and cosmetics."
