It is reported that the father of the author, Mr. A, left the scene after refueling at a self-service gas station on his way to see his grandchildren, leaving his wallet on the trunk of the car. The wallet contained approximately 700,000 won in cash and credit cards.
Realizing the loss belatedly, I returned to the gas station, but the wallet was not there. About a month after the family had virtually given up hope, they received a call from the Community Service Center saying that they were holding the wallet.
The wallet, returned via the police box, contained 700,000 won in cash and all its contents, including cards, without a single item missing. A handwritten letter from the finder was also included.
It is reported that the finder, unable to find the contact information inside the wallet, checked the address on the ID card and sent the wallet via registered mail to the relevant Community Service Center.
In the letter, he wrote, "I decided to actively find the owner of this ownerless wallet, as it is not normal for something precious to someone to have fallen into the wrong hands," adding, "I could not find the phone number, so I decided to mail it to the address of the resident registration."
