Women's Volleyball Reaches Final Four for First Time in 8 Years, Defeats Kazakhstan 3-0 [Nagoya AG]

[Financial News] South Korea's women's volleyball team defeated Kazakhstan to reach the semifinals of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.  This is the first time in eight years that South Korean women's volleyball has advanced to the Asian Games semifinals, following the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games. 
The women's national team defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-21) in the women's volleyball quarterfinals at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on the 20th at Park Arena Komaki in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
The team will face the winner of the Japan (No. 6)-Taiwan (No. 37) match, scheduled for later that afternoon, in the semifinals at 7:20 p.m. on the 21st.
Yuk Seo-young (25, Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK)) led the team with 20 points. Jeong Ho-young (25, Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders) scored 10 points, Lee Da-hyeon (25, NEC Red Rockets) added nine, and Eun-Seo Park (23, Soop) contributed eight in the victory.
Early in the first set, South Korea trailed 7-9 against Kazakhstan's defense and height. After falling behind 13-16, the team fought back with attacks from Jeong Ho-young and a service ace by Kim Dain (28, Hyundai Engineering & Construction). South Korea then took a 25-24 lead before So-hwi Kang (29, Korea Expressway Corporation) ended the set with the next attack.
South Korea went on to win the second set in a hard-fought battle before closing out the match in the third. Consecutive points from So-hwi Kang and Yuk Seo-young at 21-20 gave South Korea control, and at 24-21, Eun-Seo Park (Soop) finished the match with a block.
