Lee Ju-ho finished third in the men's 100m backstroke final at the Tokyo Aquatics Center in Tokyo, Japan, on the afternoon of the 20th, posting a time of 53.94 seconds. It was his third consecutive bronze medal in the event, following those at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
China's Xu Jiayu won the gold medal. He claimed the title with an Asian Games record of 51.98 seconds, securing his third consecutive victory in the event. Xu Jiayu is the first swimmer to win the men's 100m backstroke at three consecutive Asian Games.
Japan's Hidekazu Takehara finished second in 53.93 seconds. Meanwhile, Yun Ji-hwan, who also competed in the final, completed the race in ninth place with a time of 55.29 seconds.
