Cheong Wa Dae Calls North Korean Ballistic Missile Launch a "Violation of UNSC Resolutions"; Holds Emergency Meeting

[Financial News] Cheong Wa Dae said on the 20th that North Korea had launched short-range ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea, and held an emergency meeting to review the military's response posture and the security situation.
The Office of National Security (ONS) at Cheong Wa Dae held an emergency security situation review meeting with relevant agencies, including the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff (ROK JCS), in attendance.
The meeting reviewed the South Korean military's response to North Korea's missile launch and analyzed and assessed its impact on security. Officials also examined the response measures that may be needed going forward.
The ONS stressed the need to maintain an airtight readiness posture, as North Korea had launched ballistic missiles again just over a week after its previous launch on the 12th. It also called for an immediate halt, describing North Korea's ballistic missile launch as a grave act that violates United Nations Security Council resolutions.
North Korea had previously launched several short-range ballistic missiles on the 12th, the day after the conclusion of the regular Freedom Edge military exercise involving South Korea, the United States and Japan.
