"See Autumn Sunsets Aboard the Hangang Bus"... Seoul Metropolitan Government Releases Sunset Spots Map

[Financial News] The Seoul Metropolitan Government has released the "Hangang Sunset Spots Map," which links major sunset-viewing locations along the Hangang River with Hangang Bus operating times so people can enjoy the river's autumn sunsets. On the 20th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it had created the "Bathed in Hangang's Sunset" map, featuring major sunset spots and viewing routes along the Hangang River as part of its nighttime economy promotion project.
The map links seasonal sunset times with Hangang Bus operating schedules so residents and tourists can use it to plan sunset outings. As of mid-September, passengers can enjoy the sunset while traveling aboard a Hangang Bus departing from Yeouido Ferry Terminal toward Magok at 5:52 p.m. or from Jamsil Dock toward Yeouido at 5:30 p.m.
The map divides the Hangang River into four areas—Nanji, Mangwon and Yanghwa; Yeouido and Nodeul Island; Banpo and Some Sevit; and Seoul Forest, Ttukseom and Jamsil—and introduces major sunset-viewing locations in each.
In the Nanji, Mangwon and Yanghwa area, visitors can enjoy sunsets beneath the wide-open western sky at the Hangang Bus dock at Mangwon Hangang Park and near Seonyu Bridge in Yanghwa Hangang Park. In the Yeouido and Nodeul Island area, sunsets blending with Yeouido's high-rise buildings, including the 63 Building, can be viewed from Ichon Hangang Park and the western side of Nodeul Island.
At Seoraeseom Island and around Jamsu Bridge in the Banpo and Some Sevit area, visitors can take in scenery combining the sunset with the Banpodaegyo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. In the Seoul Forest, Ttukseom and Jamsil area, sunsets can be enjoyed against a backdrop of the city and the Hangang River from the Seongsu Pedestrian Overpass and beneath Cheongdam Bridge.
The city plans to post the Hangang Sunset Spots Map on the official website and social media channels of the Future Hangang Headquarters, along with videos of sunsets filmed aboard the Hangang Bus and drone footage.
Park Jin-young, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Future Hangang Headquarters, said, "The experience of watching a red sunset aboard the Hangang Bus will offer residents a special source of comfort in their daily lives and remain in tourists' memories as an unforgettable Seoul nightscape." Park added, "We will develop a variety of cultural and leisure content that makes use of the Hangang's waterfront scenery."
