[Financial News] Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 20th that it will hold the Seoul Metropolitan Government Childcare Center Open Day, allowing caregivers preparing to enroll their children in childcare centers to inspect facilities and childcare programs in person. The event is intended to help interested caregivers visit childcare centers in advance of applications for the November new semester and check details such as the childcare environment and information on meals and snacks. It will be held at 132 childcare centers across the city from the 28th through the 3rd of next month.
Held for the second time following last year’s event, this year’s program has been extended from two days to six to expand caregivers’ options and provide more opportunities for childcare centers to participate.
The event will include presentations introducing each center’s childcare philosophy and programs, question-and-answer sessions, and on-site tours of indoor and outdoor facilities. Caregivers will be able to hear directly from childcare center representatives about the childcare environment and operating practices.
A total of 132 childcare centers are participating, including 23 Seoul-type childcare centers, 27 Seoul-type MOA childcare centers, and 18 integrated childcare centers for children with disabilities. Participants can compare various types of childcare centers, not just general centers, and assess which childcare environment is best suited to their children.
Caregivers who wish to participate can apply through the Seoul Childcare Portal website by the 27th. Prospective caregivers may also participate, and the participating childcare centers will send separate text messages to those selected to attend.
Ma Chae-suk, head of the Women and Family Affairs Office of Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "I hope the Childcare Center Open Day will help build trust in the childcare center our children will attend and resolve questions about childcare, including the issue of enrolling children in childcare centers."
