The signing ceremony was attended by Shinhan Bank President Jung Sang-hyuk, Chungcheongbuk-do Governor Shin Yong-han, and KOTEC Chairman Kwon Hyung-taek, as well as local business leaders, including Cha Tae-hwan, chairman of the Chungcheongbuk-do Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council; Lee Sang-chan, chairman of the Chungcheongbuk-do Business Association; Chae Seok-byeong, chairman of the Chungcheongbuk-do Venture Business Association; and Jagyoon Gu, executive vice president and secretary-general of the Chungcheongbuk-do branch of INNOBIZ.
The agreement's name, 'S+BASE,' combines the initial letters of Startup, Bio & Medical, Advanced Materials, Semiconductor, and Equipment & Parts, representing Chungcheongbuk-do's future industry sectors.
The agreement was established to facilitate financing for companies with strong technological capabilities and growth potential in these industries and to support the development of Chungcheongbuk-do's future industries.
Under the agreement, Shinhan Bank will contribute KRW 5 billion to KOTEC and provide loans to eligible companies based on agreement-backed guarantees. KOTEC will use Shinhan Bank's contribution to supply a total of KRW 100 billion in agreement-backed guarantees, while Chungcheongbuk-do will link the program with its Interest Subsidy Program for Small and Medium-Sized Business Development Funds to reduce companies' interest burdens.
Shinhan Bank President Jung Sang-hyuk said, "We will continue to provide active support as a reliable financial partner so that KOTEC's guarantees and Chungcheongbuk-do's policy support can create synergies."
