LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun: "Do Not Fear the Pace of Change" ... LS to Boost Productivity and Profitability with AI

[Financial News] LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun said, "We live in an era when yesterday's science fiction becomes today's reality, and today's new technology becomes ordinary technology tomorrow. LS must be a company that does not fear the pace of change and is the first to embrace and enjoy it."
LS Group said on the 20th that Chairman Koo had made the remarks at the fifth LS Future Day, held at LS Tower in Anyang on the 18th under the theme "Beyond AI Exploration to Creating Business Results." Launched in 2022 when Koo took office as chairman, LS Future Day is an event where new business ideas and achievements in research and development and workplace innovation are shared across the group.
The event was attended by around 500 executives and employees, including Koo, CEOs, chief operating officers (COOs), chief technology officers (CTOs) and chief digital officers (CDOs) from the holding company and its affiliates. This year's event focused on applying the technological and innovation capabilities accumulated so far to actual businesses, thereby improving productivity and profitability and creating customer value.
At the performance-sharing program, 19 projects in new businesses, technology and innovation were presented, including "AI-Based Cable Manufacturing Meister" and "High-Reliability Power Protection Platform for AI Data Centers."
This year, presenters used AI-assisted coding to turn ideas for LS AI products and solutions into minimum viable products (MVPs) with core functions. They also used AI to create and present videos featuring customer experience scenarios. Employees whose projects were selected as outstanding examples were chosen as "LS Futurists" and given the opportunity to explore the latest technology trends next year through visits to Chinese industrial cities and benchmarking of local companies.
In particular, Koo urged attendees in his congratulatory remarks, "We must dramatically increase productivity in offices and manufacturing sites, and add AI to our products and services to create new value that customers can experience."
At the LS Future Forum held in the afternoon, expert sessions on leadership, business strategy and financial strategy, as well as a plenary session on "The Future of Manufacturing in the Era of Physical AI," were held to discuss ways to apply AI to business. Speakers including Songyee Yoon, CEO of PVP; Seong-ro Yoon, a professor at Seoul National University; Jang-hyun Kim, a partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG); and Seok-jun Kwon, a professor at Sungkyunkwan University, shared insights into talent development in the AI era, strategies for applying AI in industry, innovation in financial operations and changes in the manufacturing environment.
Meanwhile, LS Future Day generated more than 500 ideas in batteries, next-generation power solutions and AI linked to LS's vision for the future, and efforts to turn them into actual businesses are continuing. In particular, LS ELECTRIC launched products and services through the "Integrated Solar Power Generation Service Platform" project, which was selected last year as an outstanding new business idea. In addition, seven projects—including LS Mtron's development of compact tractors tailored to the North American market—are undergoing commercialization procedures, including business model validation.
