"Use Reusable Containers," Baemin Creates Disposable-Free Dormitories at Seoul National University

[Financial News] Baemin is joining forces with Seoul National University's Gwanak Residence Halls to promote an eco-friendly culture on campus. The company aims to reduce plastic container waste by expanding benefits for orders placed in reusable containers.
According to industry sources on the 20th, Woowa Brothers, which operates Baemin, signed a Zero-Waste Campus Agreement with Gwanak Residence Halls and Itgreen.
It is the first case in South Korea of the delivery industry and a university jointly establishing an eco-friendly cooperation model and a resource-circulation system.
Baemin plans to build reusable-container delivery and pickup infrastructure, focusing on dormitories with high delivery demand on the Seoul National University campus, to encourage the use of eco-friendly services among university communities. The company also plans to expand this successful model to other university campuses.
The three organizations announced the agreement at Gwanak Residence Halls on the 18th and discussed detailed implementation plans, including building reusable-container delivery and pickup infrastructure and launching promotional campaigns to encourage its use. Gwanak Residence Halls will provide spaces where students can pick up delivered food and return reusable containers, along with promotional materials such as QR codes.
Meanwhile, Baemin expanded its reusable-container delivery service across Seoul, including Geumcheon District and Dobong District, on the 18th. Until the 27th, customers in Seoul will receive 7,000-won coupons for reusable-container orders on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kim Jung-hyeon, head of sustainability management at Baemin, said, "I hope this cooperation will serve as an opportunity to spread eco-friendly practices in the daily lives of younger generations. As a platform leading the delivery industry, we will continue to fulfill our responsibility to foster an eco-friendly delivery culture."
