Vietnam's KOCHAM Relocates to Expanded Office: "We Will Create a New Space Connecting Korean and Vietnamese Companies"

[HANOI, Vietnam—Jun-seok Kim, Correspondent] Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM Vietnam), which supports the activities of Korean companies in Vietnam and represents their interests, has significantly expanded its office and begun efforts to strengthen exchanges among Korean companies and cooperation with local partners.
KOCHAM Vietnam held an opening ceremony for its expanded and relocated office on the 16th at Chamvit Tower in Hanoi, Vietnam. It moved from its previous 145-square-meter office on the 13th floor, approximately 44 pyeong, to a 410-square-meter office on the 21st floor of the same building, approximately 124 pyeong. About 100 people, including Tae-yeon Ko, chairman of KOCHAM Vietnam; Mi-yeon Lee, South Korean ambassador to Vietnam; Mo-se Yang, chairman of the Korean Residents Association; and representatives of Korean companies operating in Vietnam, attended the ceremony to celebrate KOCHAM Vietnam's office expansion and relocation.
Tae-yeon Ko, chairman of KOCHAM Hanoi, said, "This expansion is about more than simply having a larger space. Its significance lies in securing a living, breathing space where member firms, companies and institutions can meet more often, connect more deeply, and discover new opportunities for cooperation and business together."
South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Mi-yeon Lee said, "This seems to be an opportunity for KOCHAM Hanoi to establish itself as KOCHAM truly representing all of Vietnam. As more Korean companies enter Vietnam, I hope KOCHAM will serve as a central pillar of support and help shape responses to companies' difficulties and policy directions." She added, "The embassy also wants to prepare many events in close consultation with KOCHAM," and said, "I hope we can jointly take on the role of facilitating communication among companies."
KOCHAM Hanoi is a nonprofit economic organization voluntarily established in May 1992 by Korean businesspeople who had entered Vietnam. It was officially registered with the Hanoi People's Committee in January 1999. The organization conveys Korean companies' business difficulties to the Vietnamese government, builds corporate networks, and supports Korea-Vietnam economic cooperation.
