United States' Costs for War with IRAN Exceed 62 Trillion Won as Expenses Continue to Mount

[Financial News] The United States has spent more than $45 billion on its war with IRAN. With spending continuing on weapons, including munitions, and fuel, while repair costs for U.S. military facilities are excluded from the tally, the actual burden is expected to be higher.
According to CNN on the 18th, local time, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) reported to Congress that the total cost of the war with IRAN had reached $45.1 billion, or approximately 62.5 trillion won.
The cost tallied by the DoD through the 3rd was $43.6 billion, or approximately 60.5 trillion won. After an additional $1.5 billion in fuel costs, approximately 2 trillion won, was included, the total exceeded $45 billion.
This is well above the $38 billion, or approximately 52.7 trillion won, that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated had been spent through the 1st of last month. Compared with the $37.5 billion, or approximately 52 trillion won, estimate released by the DoD in July, the figure has increased by approximately $7.6 billion.
Weapons-related spending, including munitions, accounts for the largest share of the war costs. The CBO projected that if the war continues, additional costs of $2 billion to $3 billion per month, or approximately 2.8 trillion to 4.2 trillion won, could arise.
The figures currently available do not reflect all the costs the United States will have to bear. The amount the DoD reported to Congress did not include the costs of repairing U.S. military bases and buildings damaged by attacks from IRAN.
The potential impact of a prolonged war on the United States economy is also being discussed. The CBO projected that war-related costs and their economic fallout could contribute to higher inflation in the United States during the first quarter of next year.
