According to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC), the South Korean delegation will enter the stadium 16th at the opening ceremony, which will be held at 6 p.m. on the 19th at Nagoya Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium in Japan. The order is based on the alphabetical order of the countries' English names.
Rowing athlete Kim Dong-yong and table tennis player Shin Yu-bin will serve as the flag bearers. KSOC explained that it selected the flag bearers after considering the sports that had entered the athletes' village by the time of the opening ceremony, transportation support from the organizing committee, competition and official training schedules, and whether they would attend the event.
A total of 50 members from nine sports—including women's 3x3 basketball, boxing, MMA, rowing, sailing, surfing, table tennis, soft tennis and wushu—will attend the opening ceremony as part of the South Korean delegation.
The North Korean delegation will enter eighth, while host country Japan will appear last.
The 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which officially get underway with the opening ceremony today, will continue through the 4th of next month.
