[Financial News] Actor Seongbeom Jang posted a handwritten letter labeled a "farewell letter" on social media and explained that it was a prop used during the filming of a drama.
On the 18th, Seongbeom Jang uploaded a photo of the handwritten letter to his social media account along with the message, "It's not a farewell letter. You were shocked, right?" The word "farewell letter" appears at the top of the letter, which begins with the words, "To my beloved father and mother."
Because the letter expresses his feelings toward his parents and emotions he experienced during military service, it could easily have been mistaken for a real farewell letter. However, Seongbeom Jang explained that he wrote it himself as a prop for the filming of ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama "New Recruit 4: Sabotage," in which he is currently appearing.
Seongbeom Jang recalled, "Are you all enjoying the drama? I suddenly remembered it while watching the show, so I searched through my phone gallery and found the letter I used as a prop during the filming of 'New Recruit 4.' I remember that the actors were given only the situation and wrote their letters as they saw fit."
He added, "Even though I knew it wasn't real, I became so focused while writing that I completely immersed myself in the letter, and that memory is still vivid. Have any of you ever written a farewell letter like this during your military service? My heart felt so heavy. Still, it was a truly precious experience during filming."
Finally, Seongbeom Jang asked viewers to continue supporting the show, saying, "You'll keep watching 'New Recruit 4' through the end, right? Loyalty! I love you." He has played Kim Dong-woo in the "New Recruit" series since 2022.
