Kim Jong Un Inspects Munitions Factories: "Artillery Must Have the Most Destructive Offensive Power"

[Financial News] North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected munitions industrial enterprises and emphasized the importance of artillery, calling for support from the munitions sector for the restructuring and modernization of the artillery combat forces.
On the 19th, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Kim visited multiple key munitions industrial enterprises from the 16th to the 18th, received reports on their production status, and emphasized, "Our artillery must possess the most concentrated, destructive, massive and multifaceted offensive power and responsibly fulfill the dual missions of deterrence and execution."
Kim said, "The enemy's military systems will gradually be exhausted and rendered useless through the action of the irresistible force we already possess or will soon possess," adding, "The munitions industrial enterprises at all levels under the Second Economic Committee must take on a greater share in implementing the Party's strategic policy of building the most powerful army."
KCNA said he presented policy tasks including raising the level of artificial intelligence integration in offensive and defensive combat weapon systems, upgrading artillery weapons with armoring and automation, and improving production conditions and the environment at munitions factories.
Kim said, "The significance of the production achievements of key munitions industrial enterprises lies not merely in increasing output itself, but in the fact that they are the product of the working class's will and efforts to safeguard our sovereignty and security," adding, "This constitutes a major contribution to the state."
Those accompanying Kim during the inspection included Pak Jong-chon, deputy chairman of the Party Central Military Commission; Kim Jong-sik, first deputy director of the Party's Munitions Industry Department; Yu Chang-son, director of the artillery bureau of the military's General Staff; Ri Pyong-chol, chief adviser on Party munitions policy; Party Secretary Ri Il-hwan; and Kim Yo Jong, director of the Party's General Affairs Department.
The entourage list notably included Kim Jae-ryong, the former standing member of the Party Politburo and organizational secretary who had been dismissed, drawing attention.
North Korea held the second plenary meeting of the Ninth Party Central Committee in June, dismissing Kim Jae-ryong and appointing Jo Yong-won to the position.
