[Financial News] Cho Min, daughter of Cho Kuk, head of the Innovation Policy Research Institute of the Rebuilding Korea Party (RKP), said her appearance on a Lotte Homeshopping live-commerce broadcast fell through after the company unilaterally notified her of its cancellation.
On the 18th, Cho posted a message on Instagram explaining how Lotte Homeshopping's broadcast had been abruptly canceled the previous day.
She said, "About 90 minutes before my appearance, Lotte Homeshopping notified me that it was canceling the broadcast because concerns had arisen that it could cause controversy both inside and outside the company."
Cho had initially said on the 17th that the reason for the broadcast's cancellation was simply "circumstances at company headquarters." However, after receiving a stream of inquiries, she reportedly posted additional details about what had happened the following day.
Although she said, "It is disappointing because I had prepared a lot," Cho added, "I am satisfied that I completed the schedule by holding a replacement broadcast through another channel."
She also apologized to consumers who experienced inconvenience because of the schedule change and reportedly provided free shipping at her company's expense.
Cho launched the skincare brand CEROLABS in November 2024 and began her cosmetics business. She currently serves as the head of the e-commerce company Sajeokpyosi.
