[Financial News] The good deed of an Army officer who has donated her hair for children with cancer for 14 years is drawing attention.
According to Yonhap News Agency on the 19th, Captain Oh Su-jin of the Army's 9th Infantry Division donated a 40-centimeter-long lock of hair to the Eomeona Movement Headquarters, a hair-donation organization for children with cancer.
Captain Oh joined the Eomeona movement shortly after entering the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in 2012 and has since donated her hair seven times. The total length of the donated hair amounts to about 280 centimeters.
Wigs for children with cancer require undamaged hair that is at least 25 centimeters long. Captain Oh reportedly took care of her hair without getting perms or dyeing it to meet this requirement.
Captain Oh said, "After considering how to put the hair I cut after entering the Reserve Officers' Training Corps to more meaningful use, I began donating it. If it can be of even a little help to young patients, that alone makes it meaningful enough."
