Trump: "Agreement Reached to Strengthen United States Military Presence in Greenland; United States Secures Permanent Control"

[Financial News] Donald Trump, President of the United States, claimed that the United States had expanded its troop deployment to Greenland, a strategic location in the Arctic, and secured de facto permanent control over Greenland's security.
On the 18th local time, President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that the United States had reached an agreement concerning Greenland with the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark.
He described the agreement by saying, "It completely resolves the many concerns of the United States by granting the United States permanent control over Greenland's security and all other needs." He also claimed that "the United States will bear no cost whatsoever" in implementing the agreement.
President Donald Trump also emphasized, "The United States will forever have the full ability to do whatever is necessary in Greenland to secure and protect the security of Greenland and the United States."
He explained that no other country would be able to conduct military or investment activities in Greenland without United States approval. He said, "From now on, none of our adversaries will be able to establish bases, station troops, or make sensitive investments in Greenland without our explicit written approval."
He also announced plans to expand the United States military presence in Greenland. President Donald Trump said, "We will immediately begin the process of building large-scale troop installations in appropriate areas of Greenland," adding, "We will protect it fully."
He assessed that the agreement would benefit not only the United States but also Denmark, Greenland, and all its allies. President Donald Trump called it "a very good solution for the United States, Denmark, Greenland, and all our allies" and expressed his intention to work with the people of Denmark and Greenland.
Since last year, President Donald Trump has repeatedly raised the need to annex Greenland on national security grounds. His stated logic is that if Russia or China expands its influence in Greenland, United States air and maritime security could be threatened, while Denmark lacks the ability to adequately defend Greenland.
