Upside-Down Taegeukgi? Baseball Team Captain Roh Si-hwan's Uniform Mix-Up Turns Out to Be a "Production Error" [Nagoya Asian Games]

[Financial News] An absurd mishap occurred when the Taegeukgi emblem on the team attire of Korean baseball team captain Roh Si-hwan (Hanwha Eagles) was found to be upside down as the team traveled to the host city for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. It was confirmed to be a production error by the supplier, not a mistake by the player while putting on the attire.
The Korean baseball team, led by manager Ryu Ji-hyun, departed through Incheon International Airport for Nagoya, Japan, on the 18th. All members of the squad wore the official team attire provided by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and set off for the Games.
The issue involved captain Roh Si-hwan's attire. Images taken at the airport showed that the Taegeukgi emblem on the front of his top had been printed upside down.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee confirmed that the problem was a defect in the product itself, not a mistake by the player. A KBO official stated, "The supplies provided by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee were distributed to the team, but there was an error in the product's printing."
The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee also explained, "This happened because the supplier printed it incorrectly," adding, "The supplier apologized, and since spare team attire was available, it was immediately replaced with a different set." After becoming aware of the error, Roh appeared to be mindful of the controversy and moved through the arrivals hall at Nagoya Airport without wearing the attire.
Meanwhile, the Korean baseball team, which is seeking a record fifth consecutive Asian Games title, will undergo local acclimatization training on the 19th and 20th to fine-tune its game readiness. It will then play Taiwan in its first group-stage game on the 21st.
