Another School Shooting in the Philippines Leaves at Least 3 Dead and 8 Injured

[Financial News] Another school shooting occurred in the Philippines, leaving at least three people dead and eight injured.
According to local media outlets, including Agence France-Presse (AFP) and ABS-CBN, a teenage student opened fire at Banga National High School in Banga, South Cotabato, on Mindanao in the southern Philippines, at around 1:18 p.m. on the 18th.
The suspected shooter and two other students were killed, while eight students were injured. All of the shooting victims were students aged 14 to 17, and four of those injured were reportedly in critical condition.
The suspected shooter was a ninth-grade student who reportedly killed a male and a female classmate before dying by suicide.
Banga Mayor Albert Palencia said the suspect, whose parent was an official with the Ministry of Education, took a 9mm handgun from a safe at home and used it in the attack. The suspect had also told two friends in advance that he planned to carry out the attack immediately after lunch.
Immediately after the shooting, authorities in Banga suspended classes at all schools in the area.
School shootings have occurred one after another in the Philippines recently. In June, suspects aged 14 and 15 opened fire with handguns at a high school in Tacloban City, Leyte, in the central Philippines, killing three students and injuring 20 others.
Then, last month, a ninth-grade student opened fire with a rifle and a handgun at a secondary school in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, on Mindanao, killing one student before dying by suicide. The suspect also livestreamed the attack on social media while wearing a body camera.
