[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung received Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office of the UAE, on the 18th and expressed his gratitude for the UAE giving South Korea top priority in crude oil supplies despite the instability in the Middle East.
Kang Yoo-jung, a senior presidential spokesperson at Cheong Wa Dae, said in a written briefing that "President Lee assessed that practical cooperation between the two countries has continued to make steady progress in various fields, including defense and the defense industry, AI and advanced technologies, nuclear power, and culture, based on close communication between the two countries' designated officials, Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik and Chairman Khaldoon."
Chairman Khaldoon conveyed the special regards of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In particular, he emphasized, "The people of the UAE have come to view South Korea as a grateful brotherly nation that stood by the UAE when it was going through difficult times."
He also said, "The cooperative relationship between the two countries, which has developed around energy and infrastructure, is expanding into diverse and future-oriented areas, including investment, space, health care, and education."
