[Financial News]  A fire at a logistics warehouse near Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Gyeongseo-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, spread, prompting fire authorities to raise the response level to Level 2. No casualties have been reported so far, and 34 people at the scene were guided to evacuate.
According to the National Fire Agency (NFA), a report was received at around 2:44 p.m. on the 18th that a fire of unknown cause had broken out at a logistics warehouse in Gyeongseo-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City. Fire crews arrived at the scene at 2:53 p.m. and began extinguishing the blaze.
Fire authorities issued Response Level 1 at 3:21 p.m. as the fire spread. They later raised the response level to Level 2 at 6:25 p.m. amid growing concerns that the fire could expand.
No casualties have been confirmed so far. Fire authorities guided 34 people at the scene to evacuate.
A total of 69 firefighting vehicles and 167 personnel have been deployed to battle the blaze. The NFA activated a situation management team at 6:33 p.m., shortly after raising the response level to Level 2.
The fire was initially believed to have started outside the logistics warehouse. It reportedly began in boxes outside the warehouse before spreading to the two-story building. Fire crews are said to be having difficulty containing the blaze because of materials stored inside. Once the fire is brought under control, authorities will investigate its exact cause and the extent of the damage.
