[Financial News] The Green Doctors Foundation, an international medical volunteer organization led by Chairman Jeonggeun, director of Jeonggeun Eye Hospital, said it held a ceremony on the 15th floor of ONN at On Hospital in Danggam 2(i)-dong, Busanjin District, Busan, on the 18th to present "Love Daily Necessities Kits" to vulnerable groups in the region ahead of Chuseok.
Green Doctors, which has practiced neighborly love by delivering daily necessities to people in need in Busan every Seollal and Chuseok, the country's two biggest traditional holidays, prepared a total of 40 boxes of goods this year, worth approximately 2 million won.
The donation took on added meaning as middle and high school students, university students, and parents affiliated with Junior Green Doctors and the university division of Green Doctors took part in person.
The kits carefully prepared by the students contained hearty food items such as Hetbahn instant rice, scorched rice, Korean beef-bone soup, noodles, tuna, and dried laver, along with essential health and household products, including toothpaste, wet wipes, pain relief patches, and back scratchers.
The prepared boxes of love will be delivered to households in urgent need, including seniors living alone, families with persons with disabilities, and low-income families with children or adolescents, following recommendations from relevant local organizations such as the Korea Association for Linking Independent Living for Persons with Disabilities, the Buam 3-dong Community Service Center in Busanjin District, Busan, and Save the Children.
Jeonggeun, chairman of Green Doctors, said, "When the holidays come, marginalized people in our community may feel even lonelier. The very process of young students taking part and sharing warmth is itself a valuable educational experience and a source of great fulfillment." He added, "Green Doctors will continue to pay close attention and share warmth so that no one in the community is left behind, serving as a steadfast partner to the local community."
